Three steps forward, one step back
Energy work operates on the principle of "three steps forward and one step back". Energies need to be more continuously and comprehensively strengthened during the initial phases of the process than their actual strength measures at the end. This 3:1 ratio allows the fortification to be stable enough to last over time.
Continuity is the key that enables the "three steps forward, one back" to be effective.
Through this kind of fortification, I help the energies to fill up more of their own space and function better. I am, so to speak, holding the room open for them to recover. When I let go at the end of the process, the energies are strong enough to remain intact and fill 70-90% of the space on their own.
If the work would be done with no "step back", it would take much more time and effort in the last phase than it actually does using the 3 forward/1 back principle.
